We are a group of artists who met whilst studying for our Fine Art degrees in Blackburn. As students we soon found that we wished to continue to work together and also exhibit as a group as well as individually. We formed a close bond as friends and artists, with similar goals for the future and we collectively call ourselves ‘ecco arts’. Latin for ‘behold’, we have watched each other develop as artists. We bounce off each other with inspiration and have a group dynamic within which ideas for personal development are paramount.

We have set up our own shared studio in the centre of Blackburn with a view to expansion and becoming part of a creative arts centre. This connection with other artists we feel is invaluable for the development of a network of shared interest and a larger and more flexible base for exhibitions in the future.

We continue to work in our own very individual styles but within the framework of the group. Our work is diverse and ranges from portraits to landscapes and from figurative work to abstract in a wide variety of media.
